As a photographer for the first trimester and beyond, I spend my days documenting bumps, sharing birth space, snuggling newborns, and celebrating the littlest milestones with fellow parents. I hope to join you on this journey we all call family in Portland, Oregon and the surrounding NW.
Being a photographer for Motherhood + Birth is truly a labor of love (pun always intended). I attended my first home birth almost exactly 5 years ago and I was immediately hooked by the beauty and strength I witnessed. But…I got pregnant and nothing halts your plans quite like having your own baby. The universe had a different plan for me and I experienced a plus size pregnancy with care at a local birth center that ended in a hospital transfer. While I wasn’t the stereotypical picture-perfect mom I truly believe that this experience shaped the photographer that I am today. 2 years ago I came back in full force dedicated to documenting baby bumps and birth. I can now relate to so many moms and families because of the dual holistic and hospitalized care that I received. Moving from pregnancy on through birth and everything that comes after, my images send a message that this family is strong, beautiful, and most importantly, UNIQUE. I am wholly invested in your story.
Kind words make my soul happy:
"Choosing Meg Ross for our birth photography was by far the best decision I’ve made in a while. I was so on the fence about it because it was for my second baby and I wasn’t sure I *needed* the photos. But there is not a single bit of regret about the investment we made! The entire process leading up to the birth was seamless and Meg made sure she knew exactly what I wanted captured during the birth. I loved how Meg checked in with me leading up to the birth and was SO encouraging when my baby was almost two weeks late. She was a fantastic addition to our team and I couldn’t imagine the birth space without her being there.” – Madison
